About laura. Lets get personal
Want to hear the short version?
-I am a 33 year old Bristolian
-Married, Mum of 1 & dog owner of 2
-University Graduate in Photographic Art
-Genuinely LOVE my job & meeting new people
-My sister took this photo at my own Wedding!
For those that have more time, here is the longer version:
My family are based in Yate, South Gloucestershire. We've lived here our whole lives and although I passionately love to travel, home really is where the heart is. I’m a Mum to 2 year old Archer (Yes he is named after the animated secret agent Sterling Archer!) and we have two Dogs Alfie & Snoops.
I started Photography on analogue Film at College in 2002. Shooting my first digital Wedding whilst at University in 2007, I went on to graduate with a Photographic Art Degree in 2008 (Woop!) & I have been photographing awesome individuals ever since!
My week days are mostly filled with soft play, muddy puddles, milk spills & navigating the lanes between laughter & tantrums. In contrast my week evenings are mostly filled with work - editing, emails, website tweaking... & the occasional Netflix binge! Weekends are for Weddings or local adventures.
About photography. lets talk business
"YOU DONT TAKE A PHOTOGRAPH.
YOU MAKE IT"
I love this quote!
These days a Wedding Photographer isn't the only photographer in the room. We are competing with guests holding SLRs, Ipads, Iphones, Drones; making instant Facebook uploads, blogging, vlogging & Instagramming. Fortunately for me, a great photo isn't down to the camera that takes it. My job is knowing when a moment is about to happen, acting on instinct, being able to adapt when the light flips from a dark church to full sun and shooting that wonderful moment when your Grandad sheds a tear during your ceremony.
So in choosing a photographer, I wouldn't recommend your Uncle who has a big camera and likes to take pictures as a hobby (although it is incredibly sweet of him to offer!) You need a photographer you can trust, with experience, credentials, testimonials & stories of weddings past.
Of equal importance, I think, is finding someone you connect with. Therefore you're encouraged to have a look around my website, dig into the Wedding portfolio, check out both my personal & business Instagram. Ask me questions, set up a skype date, coffee & a venue visit? Lets do it!
I'd love to hear all about you too! Your Wedding plans, where you first met, your pets names and anything that will help us get to know each other. I want to make it as easy as possible for me to fit seamlessly into your Wedding, photographing candidly and getting the best natural photographs possible. Honest, beautiful images that will bring back memories for year to come.
If it sounds like I might be up your street, please get in touch.
