Nostalgic 35mm film

The return of classic 35mm film, in 2026 wedding photography

I began my photography journey with film in 2002, learning the darkroom inside and out, and spending the next six years shooting exclusively in black and white on 35mm and 120 film. Those early years shaped the way I see light, composition, and emotion, and they are skills I still lean on today. Even after all this time, the quiet romance of film has never left me.

Today in 2026, the return of photographic film, from colour and black and white to more experimental processes, has made it accessible once again. More couples are now asking for film to sit alongside modern digital photography on their wedding day, and for those of us who love it, it’s an incredibly exciting time!

Film demands a different set of skills. It requires patience and consideration, with each click of the shutter. It encourages us to slow down, be present, and trust the process. As part of a wedding day, it brings a sense of intention and artistry that feels both nostalgic and deeply personal.

Film is an experience.
A timeless, luxurious layer to your story.

For couples drawn to the soul of old photography, I’m always happy to include one complimentary roll of film on your wedding day. It’s a small nod to tradition, and a love letter to imperfection.

For those who would like a richer film story woven throughout their day, additional rolls can be requested at £80 per roll. Each one is professionally developed, scanned, and presented as fine art prints in an heirloom box.

Film is not simply an add-on, it is an experience.

As an experienced film shooter, I photograph using a variety of cameras. My kit includes several 35mm SLR film cameras, a 120 medium format, and an Olympus point-and-shoot for dreamy, spontaneous light leaks and imperfect moments. I also have a collection of Lomography cameras for those who love something a little more playful and experimental.

If you’re someone who enjoys the detail, the craft, or simply loves beautiful kit, I’m always keen to geek out over cameras with you too.
